A Major Reform By Govt. of India 

India will soon have a multi-agency body called the National Recruitment Agency (NRA).

Central Govt. has sanctioned funds to the tune of Rs. 1517.57 crore to set up the National Recruitment Agency (NRA). Theses fund shall be utilized for setting up the NRA and for setting up proper examination infrastructure in the nearly 117 districts.Few salient features, of special interest to those aspiring for a career in Govt. Non Technical Jobs, are highlighted below :-
  1. NRA will conduct a Common Eligibility Test (CET) to screen candidates for the Group B and C (non-technical) posts of Central government jobs.
  2. NRA will have representatives from the Ministries of Railways & Finance, Department of Financial Services,SSC, RRB, & IBPS.
  3. NRA will come into force from next year, 2021 being headquartered at Delhi. There shall be over 1000 centres, one in each district to be set up, where candidates can take the online test. NRA will conduct 2 tests in an year
  4. CET scores of the candidates will remain valid for three years from the date of declaration of the result.
  5. The best of the valid scores shall be deemed to be the current score of the candidate.
  6. Subject to upper age limit, there shall be no restrictions w.r.t no. of attempts a candidate can make.
  7. Test curriculum would be common as would be the standard.
  8. Candidates would have the facility of registering on a common portal and give a choice of Test-centre. Like any other competitive exam, based upon the availability, desired centre shall be alloted, in candidate's preference order.
  9. CET would be available in a number of languages. It will extend an an equal opportunity to different parts of the country and getting rewarded with a job subjected to their competitiveness.
  10. With single common entrance test, candidates won't be required to spend their time & money resources for applying to different jobs. The cost and hassles of travelling for different examinations will also be saved.
  11. Female candidates, especially from far-away rural areas, will be very much benefited.
